Auto Accident

12/01/2007 – Just after 16:00 hours Engine & Rescue 10 were alerted for an accident on N. Lancaster St. in the borough. Assistant 10(Showers) arrived on scene to find that there were no injuries and that spill control was needed. The engine and rescue were assigned to spill control and securing the battery on the vehicle. Co. 10 was back in quarters about an hour later.

Early Snow Fall is followed by numerous accidents

11/18/2007 – 11/19/2007 – Snow began falling on Sunday the 18th and while this storm only produced about and inch of snow for the Jonestown area it contributed to a number of accidents.  Sunday night Rescue 10 assisted Co.46 (Green point fire) with an accident on Rt.443 in Union Twp. Monday morning began early with back to back accidents on Greble Rd. in Swatara and Bethel Townships. The engine and rescue assisted Co.47 (Bunkerhill Fire) and Co.41 (Fredericksburg fire) with these incidents. A short break and then back to back calls again around 08:00 hours The engine and rescue were dispatched to Fredericksburg to assist Co.41 with a vehicle into a structure and were canceled and then immediately after engine 10 & 10-1 were dispatched to assist Co.47 again on Rt.72 in New Bunkerhill with a 2 Vehicle accident with a vehicle that hit a structure.  It was quiet until Monday afternoon around 16:00 the rescue assisted Co.11 (Lickdale Fire) in Union Twp on Awol Rd. with a crash with injury. Tuesday morning started early again around 07:00 hours the rescue assisted Co.12(Ono Fire) with an accident at Rt.22 and Race Horse dr. in E. Hanover Twp. The following are some picture from a couple of those incidents.

Camper Fire

10/05/2007 – Shortly before 13:00 hours Company 10 was alerted to assist with a Trailer fire on Speedway Dr. in Bethel Twp. Engine 41-1 arrived on scene and advised of a working fire on a 5th  wheel camper trailer. Engine 10 arrived shortly afterward and assisted with extinguishment and overhaul. Company 10 was back in quarters about 45 minutes later. Also on scene Co.41 (Fredericksburg Fire) and Ambulance 190.

Vehicle Fire

09/26/2007 – Just after 14:00 hours Rescue 10 was alerted to assist with a car fire on Awol Rd. in Union Twp. The Rescue arrived first on location and advised incoming units of a working fire. The rescue crew assisted with stretching a hand line and with extinguishment. The Rescue was on scene for about 30 minutes. Also on scene Engine 11(Lickdale Fire), Amb.190.

Motorcycle Accident

09/21/2007 – Shortly after 07:30 hours Box 47-05 was alerted for an auto accident involving a motorcycle. The crews from Engine and Rescue 10 arrived and assisted with patient care and spill control. Company 10 returned to quarters 20 minutes later.

Auto Accident with Confinement

09/01/2007 – At 07:00 hours Rescue 10 was alerted to assist with an Auto accident on I-78 in Union Twp.  Chief 11(Snyder) assigned the Rescue to take the roof off of the vehicle. Rescue 10 arrived and cribbed the vehicle and went to work with a full set of Hurst tools and removed the roof with 15 minutes. The Rescue returned after a half hour. Also on scene Co.11 (Lickdale Fire) and Ambulance company 190.

08/21/2007 – Shortly after 15:00 hours Rescue 10 was dispatched Rt. 22 and Lincoln School Rd. in E. Hanover Twp. Rescue 10 arrived on location and performed extrication and assisted with patient care. The rescue was on scene for about an hour. Also on scene Co.12 (Ono fire), Co.75 (Ft. Indiantown Gap Fire), Life Lion (University Hospital Helicopter), Amb.190 and Medic 12.

3 Alarm Fire in Lebanon City

08/13/2007 – Shortly before 15:00 hours a 2nd alarm was sounded for multiple structures on fire in Lebanon City in area of 9th and Church streets.  The 2nd alarm brought Rescue 10 to the scene. Shortly there after the 3rd alarm was sounded and this brought Engine 10 to the scene. Crews remained on scene for several hours. Numerous city and county units responded to the scene. 3 Alarm Barn Fire

08/11/2007 – Shortly before 13:00 hours Company 10 was dispatched to 451 N. Lancaster St. in Swatara Twp. for a Barn Fire. Chief 10(Bachman) arrived on scene and confirmed a working barn fire.  Engine 10 laid a 5 inch supply line and applied first water to the fire. Crews were on the scene all afternoon. Crews from most of the companies in the north end of Lebanon County responded to the scene.

Tractor Trailer Overturned with Fire

08/05/2007 – At 05:30 hours Rescue 10 responded to an Accident on Interstate 78 mile marker 7 west bound and assisted with a Tractor Trailer overturned with fire.  The Rescue was assigned to gain entry to the trailer and overhaul its contents! Other units on scene 41 (Fredericksburg fire), 11 (Lickdale Fire), 12 (Ono Fire), 40(Mt. Zion Fire), 47 (Bunkerhill Fire), 49 (Salvation Army Canteen), 50 (Lebanon County Hazmat), Berks Co.53 (Frystown Fire).

Accident with Injury

07/26/2007 – Just after 14:30 hours Rescue 10 was dispatched to assist on a 12 box in E. Hanover Twp. on Jonestown Rd. near the Co.12 firehouse. The rescue crew assisted with patient care and securing the vehicle. The rescue returned to quarters about a half hour later. Also on scene Co.12 (Ono Fire).

Tractor Trailer Accident

07/23/2007 – Shortly before 14:00 hours Rescue 10 was alerted to assist with an accident involving 2 Tractor Trailers with a fuel spill.  The Rescue arrived on scene on Interstate 78 just east of the I-81 split to find a sizeable fuel spill with no injuries. The rescue crew took care of the fuel spill and returned to quarters about a half hour later. Company 11(Lickdale Fire) was also assigned to the incident.

Vehicle over an Embankment

07/14/2007 – Just before 10:00 hours Rescue 10 was alerted to assist Co. 11 with an auto accident on Fisher Ave. just west of Bordnersville in Union Twp. Chief 11(Snyder) arrived on scene and advised of a vehicle over an embankment with no entrapment. The rescue crew was assigned to assist with ropes and rigging as well as moving the patient up the bank. The Rescue was on scene for about 25 minutes. Also on scene Co.11 (Lickdale Fire) and E.M.S. Co. 190.

Vehicle Overturned

07/07/2007 – Shortly before 16:00 hours Company 10 was alerted for an Auto Accident with a vehicle overturned at Jonestown Rd. & Rt. 72 in Union Twp.  Assistant 10(Showers) arrived on scene and advised of a vehicle overturned and that there was smoke coming from the vehicle. Engine 10 pulled a hand line and the Rescue crew went to work on extricating a subject from the overturned vehicle. Extrication was complete in about 15 minutes and the company returned to quarters about an hour later.  Also assisting on scene were 3 units from Ambulance Co. 190 and Medic 12.

2 Alarm Structure Fire

06/22/2007 – Shortly before 15:00 hours Rescue 10 was alerted to assist on Box 41-03 for 104 Maple Dr. in Bethel Twp. Chief 41(Gruber) advised of smoke showing in the area and then arrived and requested a 2nd alarm be dispatched bringing the remainder of Co. 10 to the incident. The Rescue arrived on scene and pulled a second hand line from Engine 41-1 and went to work assisting crews from 41 and Engine 11. Just prior to attempting an interior attack water supply ran short. Until the arrival of other units carrying water the structure became fully involved in fire and crews were forced to operate from the exterior of the structure until the fire was almost completely extinguished.  Engine 10 was assigned to fill tankers .Crews were on scene for well over 5 hours. Companies on scene: 41, 1, 6, 7, 11, 12, 29, 30, 31, 32, 40, And 42, Berks units: 27, 53, And 54.

Motorcycle Accident

05/01/2007 – Just after 13:00 hours Rescue 10 was dispatched to a motorcycle accident on Jonestown Rd, & Shirks Church Rd. in E. Hanover.  Engine 75 arrived on scene and assumed command and almost immediately requested Life Lion to fly due severity of injuries. Rescue 10 was assigned to assist with patient care. While PT 12 set up a landing zone. Crews were scene for just under an hour. Companies on scene: 12(Ono fire), 75(Ft. Indiantown Gap Fire), Amb.190, Medic 12, Life Lion (University Hospital Aero medical).

Auto Accident

04/27/2007 – Just after 22:00 Hours Company 10 was alerted to an auto accident at King & Market St.’s in Jonestown. Chief 10(Bachman) and Rescue 10 arrived on scene simultaneously, followed closely by Engine 10.  Company 10 assisted E.M.S. with patient care and secured both vehicles and performed some spill control. Company 10 was back in quarters in just under an hour.

Residential Structure Fire

04/24/2007 – Shortly before 14:00 hours Company 10 was alerted to assist at a structure fire in Bethel Twp. Engine 41-1 arrived at 7 Pine ave. and advised county of a working fire. Crews were on the scene for a little over 2 hours. Companies on scene 41(Fredericksburg), 11(Lickdale), 12(Ono), 40(Mt. Zion), 47(Bunkerhill).

3 Vehicle Auto Accident with Rollover

03/02/2007 – Shortly before 08:00 hours this morning company 10 was dispatched to an accident on Rt.72 in Union Twp. Chief 10(Bachman) arrived on scene and advised all parties were out of their vehicles and there were no injuries. Engine & Rescue 10 secured the vehicles and assisted P.S.P with traffic control until the vehicles were removed. All crews returned to station about an hour later.

Valentines Day Snow Storm 2007

2/13-14/2007 – Weather forecasters are calling this weather event the Valentine’s Day storm! While other area’s were crippled with combination of Snow, Sleet, and Freezing rain, The Jonestown area managed to keep it’s road passable for the worst part of the storm! Pictured below is an accident from Interstate 78 from pretty early on in the storm. Company 10 responded to 5 crashes during the storm.

01/11/2007 – 09:00 Hours Company 10 was alerted to an auto accident at the intersection of Queen St. & Mill St. in Jonestown. Chief 10(Bachman) arrived on scene to find a vehicle off the roadway with very minor injuries. Company 10 personnel assisted with securing the vehicle and patient assessment. Company 10 was back in quarters in just under an hour.

Auto Accident with Multiple Injuries

01/06/2007 – Just before 16:00 hours Rescue 10 was alerted to assist on box 11-01 with Auto accident with multiple patients at Fisher Ave. and Bordnersville Rd. The Rescue was assigned to perform extrication and assist with patient packaging. The rescue was on scene for a little over a half hour.  Also on scene was Co.11 (Lickdale fire), 5 units from EMS Co.190, Medic 12, and Life Lion Aero medical Helicopter.
