Tractor Trailer crash with Fire

01/01/2006 Shortly before 2300 hours Box 41-97 was struck for a Tractor trailer crash with fire Interstate 78 west bound at MM 7. Chief 41(Gruber) arrived on scene confirming a working fire and requested additional Tankers and Rescue 10. A special call went out for Engine 10 to establish a fill site at Sherwin Williams Dr. and Pine Grove St. The rescue crew assisted with extinguishment and over haul. Co.10 was back in station shortly after 01:00 hours. Also on scene were crews from Co.41 (Fredericksburg Fire), 11(Lickdale Fire), 47(Bunkerhill Fire), 50(Lebanon Hazmat), Berks County 53(Frystown Fire), 54(Bethel Fire), E.M.S. 190

Auto Accident with Confinement

01/01/2006 The New Year started at 00:52 hours as company 10 responded on 10-02 box Jonestown Rd. at the Swatara Creek Bridge. A full size Durango flipped on its side. Assistant Chief 10(Showers) arrived on scene confirming 2 patients confined with minor injuries. Crews from the engine and rescue assisted the occupants from the vehicle. Co. 10 was clear of the scene about 45 minutes later. Also on scene E.M.S. Co. 190 & 75.

Auto Accident with Confinement

12/29/2005 shortly before 13:00 hours Box 10-03 was dispatched for an Auto Accident Rt.22 @ JONO Hardware. E.M.S. arrived on scene advising 1 patient was entrapped. Rescue 10 performed a brief extrication and the patient was transported to the Hershey Medical Center. Also on scene Co.12 (Ono fire), E.M.S. Co.190.

Auto Accident with Confinement

12/19/2005 Shortly before 16:00 hours Engine & Rescue 10 responded on box 47-05 Rt. 22 and Airport for an MVA. Rescue 10 arrived on scene to find 1 patient confined in a passenger car and went to work on extrication and patient packaging. 2 Tractor Trailer and an SUV were involved. A total of 2 patients were located. Also on scene were crews from Co.47 (Bunkerhill Fire) and E.M.S. Co.190.

Auto Accident with Roll Over

10/25/2005 - 17: 00 hours a 47 box went out for the area of 144 Greble rd. Arriving units advised of entrapment. Engine & Rescue 10 worked with crews from company 47(Bunkerhill Fire) to extricate patients. Company 10 returned to quarters about 1 ½ hours later.

Hazmat on the Interstate

10/09/2005 11:35 Box 45-96 for Interstate 81 north bound at mile marker 95 a fuel spill. An early morning Tractor Trailer accident resulted in a large diesel fuel spill. Rescue 10 assisted with containment as the fuel was in a waterway. Company 11(Lickdale Fire) and Lebanon County Hazmat Sta.50 were also on scene.

Auto Accident

10/06/2005 0002 hours box 12-01 alerted for an auto accident Rt.934 and Rt.22. Deputy 12(Funck) arrived on scene and advised negative entrapment. The rescue was assigned to assist with patient care and packaging. Companies on scene 12(Ono fire), Amb.190 (FASP).

Auto Accident with Entrapment

08/29/2005 Just after 19:30 hours Box 47-05 was struck for an Auto Accident reported Head-on Old Rt.22 at the entrance to the K.O.A. camp ground. Engine & Rescue 10 responded, Chief 10(Bachman) arrived on scene confirming entrapment. Rescue 10 was assigned to extrication and was supported by the engine crew and personnel from Co.47. Also on scene were Co.47 (Bunkerhill Fire), And E.M.S. Co.’s 190, 75, and Medic 12.

Motorcycle Crash

08/24/2005 19:30 hours Rescue 10 was called to Box 12-01 Jonestown Rd. & Ono Rd. for an auto accident involving a motorcycle. Deputy 12(Funck) arrived on scene and established incident command. The rescue was assigned to assist E.M.S. with patient care and packaging. The rescue was back in station about an hour later. Also on scene were Co.12 (Ono fire) and 3 units from Amb. Co. 190.

Auto Accident with Entrapment

07/11/2005- O7:00 Hours Rescue 10 responded to Fisher Ave. & MSC Drive for an Auto Accident with entrapment Box 11-02. Deputy Chief 11(Alexander) arrived on scene confirming entrapment. Rescue 10 Arrived and began extrication with a drivers side front and rear door pop, followed by rolling the roof back. Crews then assisted E.M.S. with patient packaging. Assisting on the scene Company 11(Lickdale Fire), E.M.S. Co. 190(F.A.S.P.), and Lifelion (University Hospital Aero medical)

Crash with Roll over

07/07/2005 19:20 hours Rescue 10 was dispatched to mile marker 97 north bound on Box 45-97 for an Auto Accident with roll over. The rescue assisted Company 11(Lickdale Fire) and units from Schuylkill County with extrication and patient care. Crews returned to quarters about an hour later.

Auto Accident with Confinement

06/03/2005 Shortly before 13:00 Hours Rescue 10 was dispatched to assist on Box 47-01 on S. Lancaster St. at Quarry Rd. The rescue company assisted with extrication of a patient from a single vehicle accident with confinement. Extrication was complete in less than 15 minutes. The rescue was back in station after 30 minutes. Also on scene was Co.47 (Bunkerhill Fire) and Amb. Co. 190.

Crash with Double Entrapment

04/23/2005- Just after 0530 hours Rescue 10 responded to box 12-01 for and auto accident. Jonestown rd. & S.R. 934 2 vehicles reported head on with ejection. Chief 12(Hetrick) arrived on scene and advised of double entrapment. The Rescue crew performed a simultaneous extrication on both vehicles and both victims were removed in about 20-25 minutes. Also assisting on scene Co.12 (Ono Fire), Co.75 (Ft. Indiantown Gap Fire), E.M.S. CO. 190 & 75, Medic 12.

Fuel Spill

04/11/2005- Shortly after 13:30 hours Rescue 10 was dispatched on box 45-96 to Interstate 81 south bound at mile marker 95 for a tractor trailer leaking diesel fuel. Chief 11(Snyder) arrived on scene confirming an active fuel leak with about 75 gallons of product all ready down. The Rescue Company was assigned to assist with leak stoppage and containment. Also assisting on scene was Comapny11 (Lickdale Fire), Company 50(L.E.M.A. Hazmat), and E.M.S. Co. 190.

Heavy Entrapment

4/04/2005- 14:38 hours Box 10-03 was struck for an Auto accident with entrapment. Union township on Camp meeting rd. east of Race horse Dr. Three patients entrapped after colliding with a tree and were then flown to University hospital via Life lion . Crews were on scene for about hour. Assisting on the scene were Co.12 (Ono Fire), Co.47 (Bunkerhill Fire), E.M.S. Co. 190 & 4, Medic 12.

Motorcycle Crash

3/30/2005- 11:30 hours Box 11-01 was dispatched for Union Twp., Rt.72 north of the PSP Barracks a motorcycle accident. Engine & Rescue 10 arrived on scene to find E.M.S. all ready treating the patient. E.M.S. then requested aero medical services, Co. 10 Assisted with patient care and also set up a landing zone on Rt. 72. Also assisting on scene Co.11 (Lickdale Fire), Amb. Co.190, Medic 12, Life lion aero medical.

Crash in the Construction Zone

3/22/2005- 02:10 hours Box 45-96 came in for a crash in the construction zone on I-81 north bound mile marker 96.2. Chief 11(Snyder) arrived advising of total roadway closure and heavy traffic problem. The rescue 10 crew assisted on scene for about 2 ½ hours. Also on scene Companies 11(Lickdale Fire), and 50(LEMA Hazmat), EMS Co. 190.

Tractor Trailer Roll Over with Fire

3/6/2005- At 00:44 hours Rescue 10 was called to assist on box 12-96 interstate 81 north bound at exit 85. A Tractor trailer roll over with fire and possible entrapment. Chief 12(Hetrick) arrived on scene and immediately upgraded to a 1st alarm and a short time later upgraded to a 2nd alarm. The rescue was assigned to provided lighting and air. Engine 10 was called on 2nd alarm but, was placed in service a short time later. The rescue was back in station a bit after o2:00 hours. Assisting were Co.12 (Ono Fire), Engine 75(Ft. Indiantown gap fire), Dauphin Engine 39-1(Grantville Fire), Tanker 6 (Bellegrove Fire), Tanker 7 (Water Works Fire), EMS Co. 190.

Tractor Trailer pile up on I-81

3/4/2005- Shortly before 0330 hours a set of trailer doubles and a standard tractor trailer collided also striking a heavy duty wrecker hauling a tractor. Rescue 10 was called to assist on box 12-96. Chief 12 (Hetrick) arrived on scene to find a serious fuel leak and 1 patient not trapped. The rescue was assigned to spill control and patient care and was on scene for about 2 ½ hours. Also on scene were crews from Co.12 (Ono volunteer Fire), Dauphin Co.39 (Grantville Fire), Amb. Co 190, 4 & Life lion.


Vehicle vs. Jersey Barrier

3/2/2005- Just after 0100 hours rescue 10 was assisting company 11(Lickdale community fire department) on I-81 north bound at the split with I-78. A light snow fall may have been a contributing factor that caused this single car accident with minor Injuries. Chief 11(Snyder) Arrived on scene advising negative entrapment and assigned the rescue crew to assist with patient care. The rescue was on scene for about 20 minutes.

FUEL SPILL

12/18/2004 – Today at 0730 hours Rescue 10 responded to assist companies 41, 40, & Hazmat Co.50. A residential fuel spill into a tributary was reported in the area of golf Rd. & Rt. 343 in the 41 box area. Company 10 personnel assisted in identifying the source and containing the spill. Crews returned to quarters about 2 hours later.

HEAD ON TRACTOR TRAILER CRASH I-81

11/17/2004 At 22:30 hours Co. 12, Co.39 (Dauphin), and Rescue 10 responded to a tractor-trailer accident on Interstate 81 north bound at mile marker 82. Assistant Chief 10(Showers) arrives on scene and confirmed entrapment. Chief 12(Hetrick) arrived and assumed incident command. Co. 12 handled spill control, while Co.39 and Rescue 10 performed the extrication. Patient was removed after roughly 30 min. and was airlifted to University hospital.

CRASH WITH ENTRAPMENT IN GREENPOINT

11/13/2004- At 22:00 hours Rescue 10 responded to assist Co.46 with a reported Auto Accident

Vehicle on its side with entrapment. Chief 46(Snyder) arrived on scene and confirmed entrapment, followed by PT 46. CO. 46 attended to a gas leak. Rescue 10 arrived to perform stabilization and then extrication…which was complete at approximately 22:20 hours.

MVA involving a Motorcycle, Schoolhouse Rd. & Jonestown Rd., E. Hanover Township, Lebanon County, 9-14-2004.

Shortly before 0900 hours Company 12 and Rescue 10 were dispatched for an MVA. C-12(Hetrick) arrived on scene and reported a fuel leak and prepared for a Lifelion landing. PT-12 was assigned to spill control and R-10 was assigned to assist EMS. 1 patient was flown to HMC.

Residential rescue, 105 Spruce Ave, Bethel Township, Lebanon County, 8-16-2004

A construction worker falls from the second story of this structure to the basment. Companies 41 & 10 work to extricate the patient and set up an aeromedical landing zone. Also assisting Ambulance Co. 190 and Med Evac Aeromedical unit.

Interstate 78 Milemarker 2 west bound, Union Township, Lebanon County, August 13th, 2004

Crews work to free the driver of this tractor trailer from the wreckage of this awesome impact............................Crews from Lickdale(sta.11), Jonestown(Rescue 10), Annville (Rescue 5), Also assisting on scene was Hazmat(Sta.50), Lifelion(University hospital aeromedical service), and First aid and safety patrol(Amb co. 190 & Medic 12), Ft. Indiantown Gap EMS(Amb. Co 75).

Tractor Trailer Crash, Interstate 81 Milemarker 93 north bound Swatara Township, Lebanon County, 7-23-2004

Firefighters From R-10 and Lickdale Station 11 work to prevent a diesel fuel leak from entering a near-by storm drain.

Water Rescue, Ft. Indiantown Gap, Marquette lake 4-23-2004

A small boat capsized, Bystanders pulled the victim from the water and began administering first aid. Crews from the Ft. Indiantown Gap Fire dept. & EMS, Good Samaritan Hospital EMS, & Perseverance Jonestown Rescue & Boat assisted.

Fatal Auto Accident 2-26-2001, Route 72 & Jonestown Rd., Union Township

2 Vehicles collided in the intersection the momentum pushed the vehicles into the lot of the Turkeyhill onto the gas pumps, 2 vehicles were fueling at the time, the result was total of 4 vehicles damaged and 1 gas pumped knocked off it's mooring!

Units dispatched: Companies 10,12,47 also foam taskforce assigment for flammable liquid involvement

2nd Alarm Barn Fire

10/29/2005 Shortly after 09:00 hours a second alarm was struck for 490 Beagle Rd. Bethel Twp., Berks County. Rescue 10 responded along with Lebanon County companies 12(Ono Fire), 32(Kutztown Fire), 40(Mt. Zion Fire), 41(Fredericksburg Fire), 47(Bunkerhill Fire), and numerous Berks County companies.
